Tips for using Organic Paints Paints are a liquid composition which is transformed into an opaque film after application in a thin layer to a material. Paints are generally used in decorating and protecting an object from hazardous climatic conditions. Paints are also used to get heat radiation as well as light reflection from surface to surface. Paints are applicable to any kind of object. It can be mixed up with glaze to obtain various patterns and textures, this mixing process is called faux finish and it is popular with homeowners, architect, and interior designers. It is very important to maintain a high quality of air for you to breathe inside your home, but it seems that people are not aware of such things. Painting your walls or ceilings is not a big deal but you should pay a bit attention on the paints which you are using. Ordinary paints are harmful for human health because they produce toxin emissions in the atmosphere. It doesn’t affect your health all of a sudden but slowly and steadily these chemicals eat your brain cells. Using organic paints will definitely decrease such health hazards because they produce negligible toxin emissions. Nowadays many paint manufacturers are introducing non-VOC (volatile organic compound) paint. Organic paints are less harmful, durable as well as cost-effective. Organic paints contain no solvents; smell pleasant and do not require masks while applying. Why and what to do with Woodwork? 1. Always wash surfaces with sugar soap in order to remove grease as grease can affect the quality of paint adhesion. 2. Rub down the surface with sandpaper to provide solution for paint and to smooth the surface; try to remove all those dust particles that can spoil your painting. 3. Use good fillers to fill holes and cracks to avoid moisture penetration. 4. Remove windows and door furniture safely before you start painting. 5. Spot those areas of filler to ensure subsequent coats of paint and give the proper finish. 6. Caulk round all architraves, skirting, window frames, etc. It enables the line where dissimilar color paints assemble to be straighter. 7. Remember to apply one undercoat to fill small cracks and holes. It also gives good color base and makes the surface perfect for a good gloss finish. 8. One or two coats of Gloss will do well; it will obviously give high durability, wash ability, water resistance, and attractive finish to the surface. Why and what to do with walls? 1. You need to wash your walls with sugar soap to remove dirt, traffic grime, grease, and all those nicotine discoloration so that the emulsion could stick properly. 2. Use sandpaper for smoothing walls. 3. Prepared bare plaster and filler with dilute emulsion. 4. Caulking will give lines between different colors a good look. 5. It is necessary to apply at least two coats of emulsion ceilings and walls to make sure that there is proper coverage. 6. Third coat is necessary when covering a dark color with white or if the application is in silk emulsion which does not cloak quite so well.
